spannender Fund. Wieviele Reaktorschächte (Anspielung auf Star Wars I, dem allersten Film) gibt's denn sonst noch so in der westlichen Welt?!

Die ICL Group schreibt dazu:

Fazit:

Bei ICL ist die Bromin-Produktion ein Abfallprodukt der Kali-Förderung. Der Abbau bzw. die Produktion von Bromin und Bromin-Derivaten macht 25% des angepassten Betriebsgewinn bei ICL aus.

Sucht man mit Google nach "Bromin-Herstellung insgesamt" meldet sich auch eine KI und behauptet:

[...Der wichtigste Rohstoff für die Bromgewinnung ist Meerwasser. Über 90 % des kommerziell hergestellten Broms werden aus offenem Meerwasser mit einem Bromgehalt von 60 bis 70 mg/Liter gewonnen...]

Das Tote Meer ist nach meinem Verständnis kein "offenes" Meer.
Wenn das denn so ist, dann ist die Bedeutung von ICL für die Bromin-Herstellung mutmaßlich nachrangig. Die Weiterverarbeitung von eventuell bei anderen Firmen hergestelltem Bromin könnte eventuell in den Niederlanden und/oder China erfolgen, wenn die Anlagen in Israel, also in Sodom zerstört würden.
